Full featured NewAdvantage controls for Share Point Web Parts?

Not sure where to ask this, so here goes...

I primarily develop Share Point web parts. I am wondering if I can get the "full functionality" out of NetAdvantage for ASP since almost all of my code is for Share Point. Will I "lose" anything?

    Answer

    Hello,

Thanks for writing and for considering our products - much appreciated. I believe you are in the right place - just a few days ago we officially issued a press release showing our commitment to Sharepoint - you can read the press release here:

Or you can go directly to our Sharepoint Exemplar site

Finally, you can take a look at one cool example of building a WebPart wrapper for our controls:

    Hope this helps.

Very good. I just bought the ASP .Net version and I am awaiting delivery. I wanted to make sure I haven't made a mistake!

How will I be able to use the "Designer" (GUI) to design things such as the WebGrid (within Visual Studio)... Would I just design them on a Web Form and then "cut and past" the code. (Or, am I not thinking correctly.. .yeah that is probably it.)

    Answer

SharePoint webparts are done mainly through code, though there is a cool project out there for "SmartParts" which allow you to define your UI declaratively in a user control.  Take a look here - http://www.codeplex.com/smartpart

    Hope this helps,
