Vista installation missing tools in toolbox

    I am installing ASP.NET 2008 volume 2 on Vista.

The following tools do not appear in my toolbox:

    WebDialogWindow

    WebHierarchicalDataSource

    WebImageViewer

    WebResizingExtender

    WebSlider

    WebSplitter

    Everything else installs fine.

    Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for reporting this problem. This is certainly weird to hear. The common thing between all these controls is that they are located in the same assembly. If you are using version Infragistics 2008.2 for .NET 3.5 - the name of the assembly is Infragistics2.Web.v8.2.dll for .NET 2.0 or Infragistics35.Web.v8.2.dll for .NET 3.5. It is located in the install folder of Infragistics default installation, typically something similar to C:\Program Files\Infragistics\NetAdvantage for .NET 2008 Vol. 2 CLR 2.0\ASP.NET\Bin Just open your toolbox, click choose items for the Infragistics Tab on the toolbox and navigate to the DLL files and add it manually - this should hopefully resolve the problem until we check out what is going on with the installer.

An additional thought:  If you're using Visual Studio 2005, you'll also need to install Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX Extensions.  An installer for an early RTM version of these extensions is included in the same location to where you installed the NetAdvantage for .NET toolset.

If you're using Visual Studio 2008, this extra step shouldn't be necessary.  VS2008 includes what was in the ASP.NET AJAX Extensions for VS2005.
